About Dr. Meredith Wood

Meredith Wood, PA-C, is a Physician Associate for Dr. DeClaire. She specializes in clinical management of disorders related to the knee and has extensive experience as a surgical first assistant in orthopaedic surgery. Meredith also coordinates clinical studies which investigate surgical outcomes for total knee replacement and partial knee replacement.

As a lecturer, Meredith was invited in October 2006 by Biomet Orthopaedics to be a facility presenter at a worldwide symposium in San Diego, California. Of the 41 countries represented, Meredith was the only Physician Assistant and only female invited to participate. Her presentation was titled: Minimally Invasive Bilateral Total Knee Arthroplasty Reduces Length of Hospital Stay for Patients.

Active in the metro Detroit community, Meredith participates in community education and awareness programs relating to knee disorders. She received valedictorian honors from Wayne State University in Physician Assistant Studies with a Masters Degree. Meredith is also an alumni member of Oakland University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Meredith is also an affiliate of the Michigan Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
